Evan Luchkow is a writer and director whose films explore the relationships between human society and the natural world through a sensory lens. His short film Unravel screened at Palm Springs and won the prize for “Best Canadian Film” at the Abbotsford Film Festival. His nonfiction short The Big City screened at Planet in Focus and was featured by Aeon Magazine. Evan is an alumnus of the Vancouver International Film Festival’s Catalyst Mentorship Program and the RIDM Talent Lab. He also holds a Diploma in Film Production from the University of British Columbia.

Evan is currently in post-production on a science fiction short film that explores urban loneliness in Vancouver. He is also developing a feature-length documentary, The Day’s Work, with support from the Canada Council for the Arts.

Evan’s work takes place on the traditional, unceded and ancestral territory of the Coast Salish peoples including the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam), Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish), and Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Waututh) Nations.
